Gentle Breeze

June 10th 2006

Low atmospheric pressure overlies Kamakura. We would be hit with with the northeaster of 8 to 10 kph or more from high-pressure area on northeaset of the Pacific side of the archipelago.

This situation is perfect for training to laser sailers. However, the weather has been changing afternoon and we could not have a wind.....only just gentle breeze.

No matter how weather condition is, as always, we enjoyed a whole day as the pictures shown.

Big Windy Day

May 22nd 2006

It was a morning of the breezy day.
We decided to sail out with two Y15s and three lasers!
After a while, we had heavy winds which we would not expect. One boat was capsized. The sailor recoverd promptly of the boat after it capsized. Remeber, we should always check the wind directions beforehand.

We can't see Enoshima because of the fog

I am sorry that my weather cast for today was off. We can't see Enoshima, even Inamuragasaki from Zaimokuza because of the fog up to 3:00PM. then, I heard that there was an accident of two cargo vessels in Tokyo Bay this morning.

However, this weather condition was perfect for surfers because of big waves which have been given by behind the low pressure system. It was like a typical foggy day on a rainy season, but this time, on spring. I feel that the winter gone by was cold enough so that the season is changing to summer rapidly. This Saturday might be a good day for sailing.

April 9th, 2006

It was a beautiful spring day at Kamakura. The lecture of the day contained how to maintain the speed by keeping a dgree of angle for going close hauled, the relationship of movement between tell-tails and speeding, and how to maintain the heeling position.

Then, on the sea, you did it! The movement of every boat on the ocean was really great and we enjoyed a day.
